Zombie Survival Quiz

"Well done."

date: February 18, 2008

This was an excellent quiz, and you've certainly done the survival horror genre justice, although I do disagree with a few of the answers you chose as correct.

In my opinion, a blunt-force weapon is always a better alternative to an edged weapon, and I'll tell you why. Bladed weapons, such as an axe, katana, or machete are prone to becoming "stuck" inside of the skull, spine, and muscle tendons when a human body is struck in the neck or head. On top of this issue, it's worth noting that it's very difficult to successfully decapitate a human head in a single blow with a blade. There's a reason medieval executioners trained for years to accomplish that task. It's HARD! So it stands to reason that someone attempting a decapitation is very likely to have their weapon locked up in gristle and bone!

In addition, blunt weapons do not dull with use, require maintenance for rust prevention, or run the potentially disastrous risk of becoming "stuck" during combat, as I described earlier. Plus, they can certainly cause enough trauma in a single strike to kill.

Max Brooks makes mention of this in his survival guide, and I know that he supports what you're saying, but the survivalist community has largely debunked the myth of blades over blunt-force. Anyway, I know I've gone on too long, and I'm sorry about that. That whole minor nitpick aside, it was a great quiz! I scored a B/A/A/F, so I guess I just lack the whole ruthless survivor factor. Send me a PM if you'd like to discuss any of this in more detail!

This is a joke, right? Surely you don't think it wise to list over five minutes of credit reel before your movie even begins in earnest? Sorry, I couldn't even make it through the intro. I'm going to assume this is a prank flash.

I haven't laughed that hard in weeks, thank you! I'm not even going to ask how you came up with this concept, but it's pure gold. Excellent work on the lip-synching as well. I'll be sure to share this with everyone I know!
